On December 12 La Luna played for the launch of the Air New Zealand direct route to Buenos Aires. Among the dignitaries were minister Steven Joyce, Argentine Ambassador Fernando Escalona, who we count as a good friend, the CEOs of the NZ Rugby Union and Air NZ and All Blacks captain Richie McCaw. The staging crew had done an amazing job recreating Buenos Aires' colourful suburb of La Boca. Fifty dancers from the Auckland tango community livened up the party in spite of the early hour of 8.30 am. Couples were dancing the tango everywhere, even on the the balconies five storeys high and decorated with geraniums and Argentinean flags. Sponsored by:  |

The tango evening at NZ IceFest on September 30 was a great success. After cocktails and speeches by Mayor Lianne Dalziel and Ambassador Mr. Fernando Daniel Escalona, the evening got underway with the band on stage and dancers on the floor. Embassy staff provided nibbles and Argentinian wine and the dance floor got more and more busy as the evening progressed. Sponsored by:  |
